Last Video and Blog: Intern Lisa Santiago

I had a great experience interning at the Art House for my fall semester. Though I really enjoyed gathering information and creating educational videos, the most impactful experience was shadowing James W. Peake. He taught origami lessons to Wilbur Wright Elementary’s sixth-grade class. James Peake was an amazing and reflexible instructor. Even though he taught through zoom, he made sure every student was following each step. He communicated the complicated steps of origami with such simplicity. And he made sure every student was heard and helped them to the best of his abilities. His creative lessons and effective communication has really taught me what it takes to be an amazing art teacher.

I’d like to thank Emily Splain, James Peake, and Art House as a whole for giving me such an incredible experience.
