Hello! I am Ellie Schauer, I am one of the new summer interns at Art House. I will primarily be helping with social media and marketing. A little bit about me, I just graduated from Saint Joseph Academy, where I was the president of The National Art Honor Society. I learned to love art as a hobby first, whether it was sitting and drawing, or doodling in my notebook. Going into highschool I had my heart set on becoming a nurse, I was so sure that was what I wanted to do even though it had nothing to do with art. But then I took anatomy, watched a surgery and realized that wasn't for me. I had to rethink what I wanted to do, so I went back to my roots. What do I love? I love making people feel happy, trying new restaurants, my friends, my family, sunsets, clouds, and art. At that moment I realized that looking back art had become more than a hobby, it had become a passion. A passion that I wanted to pursue. I then put everything into art, squeezing as many art classes into my schedule as humanly possible to create a portfolio to submit to colleges, and with the help of all of my teachers...I did it! I will be going on to attend St. John's University in Queens, New York. There I will be studying graphic design with a minor in photography. I am so excited to be interning at Art House this summer and cannot wait to learn a lot! Below is a collage about me and some of my artwork :)
