Words from Dan Spencer

After 20 years as a software developer, I still feel strongly that my art degree has led me to where I am today. Art taught me to how to think abstractly and explore creative ways of problem solving. Today, I still apply all my learnings in illustration design, sculpture, painting and drawing into the software I develop. So much of our lives today evolve around interactions with technology. Touch screens, for example, are everywhere from our smart phones to airport kiosks. Good user interface design and the software behind them are works of art and take creative, artful minds to build them successfully. Even as a software developer I use art as my core foundation for helping me build smart and intuitive well-designed works of software. For me, art and technology are the dynamic duo striving to shape and build a more engaging world together.
