June 24th - 27th, 2024 (Monday - Thursday) Morning Camp 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Summer Art Camp: Nature ARTventures with Meri Ruble Let's find inspiration in the flora and fauna of our Creative Garden! Colorful flowers, fresh green leaves, small insects, flying pollinators- even the rich soil beneath our feet has the potential to motivate us to make art. Join teaching artist and naturalist Meri Ruble at the intersection of nature and art this summer! We will use a photographic process to observe light and shadow, paint with joy outside, explore printmaking, use natural pigments from the garden, and experiment with earth-friendly materials throughout this family-friendly camp. Participants will also plant native flowers in the garden! Anticipated Projects: - Cyanotypes - Drawing shadows - Plein air painting - Leaf/flower prints - Symmetrical Insect Art - Collaborative mixed-media collage - Wildcrafted pigment mixing - Reclaimed clay seed bombs - Garden stepping stones - Planting flowers Art House, Inc. Summer Camps take place at Art House inside and outside in the new Creative Garden space. The camps are open to all ages and families. 2nd graders and up are welcome to attend independently. Children younger than 2nd grade should be accompanied by an adult for assistance. These fun, new camps are ***FREE*** this summer due to funding from PNC Charitable Trusts Robert H. Reakirt FDN Equities. Please register each camper separately and in advance so the teaching artist can plan for supplies and activities accordingly. If you need to cancel let us know one full week before camp begins for planning purposes. Before the camp, a registration form will be emailed to enroll your campers fully. Bring this form to Art House on the first day at check-in or you may fill it out on-site if needed. Lastly, review our class/camp policies before attending.
