Art camps are open to all ages and families. 2nd graders and up are welcome to attend independently. Children younger than 2nd grade should be accompanied by an adult for assistance. These fun, new camps are ***FREE*** this summer due funding from PNC Charitable Trusts Robert H. Reakirt FDN Equities. Registration is required.
June 12th to 15th
Morning Camp

Sensory ARTventure Camp with Meri Ruble
Young artists will explore new ways to experience the world using their senses! We will build kaleidoscopes to see how light, color, and motion can dazzle our eyes. Our sense of smell will be activated through floral projects, and we'll create musical artwork to delight our ears. Intrigued by texture, campers will collect and create art from scavenged nature elements. Finally, tastebuds will dance through edible art. Join in the fun for a week full of hands-on sensory surprises!

Building Confident Characters with Chudney Patterson
Students will learn the necessary skills to create their own Cartoon/Comic character. They will also develop communication skills in order to express their feelings and attitudes about art, as well as developing the listening skills necessary to participate in constructive discussions with their peers. Both the techniques of character design and the theory of character design will be explored; students will not only learn the aesthetics of good design and how to use various materials, but will also consider what makes a well designed character, employing writing, acting, and drawing activities to strengthen their storytelling skills.

VIRTUAL Art Lessons with Kathy Raby
Learn about well-known artists such as Faith Ringgold, Claude Monet, Salvador Dalí, and Mary Cassatt while making artwork alongside a virtual art teacher. Use everyday materials or pick up an art kit from Art House for the supplies you need. Explore art history and create during our interactive VIRTUAL summer art camp!

Art Exploration with Chudney Patterson
Using pastels, paints, collage elements, printing making techniques, and more are possible at Art Exploration camp! Try out different art media while learning about design and how to be expressive through visual art. Each day campers will encounter a new materials and new challenges. Explore, problem solve, and create during Art Exploration camp!
July 10th - 13th

Conservation Celebration: Art & Nature Camp with Meri Ruble
Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors! We will act as creative environmental stewards during this camp and create artwork from litter we clean up, from invasive plants we uproot, and use lots of traditional art materials too. Printmaking, fiber art, mixed-media collage, and more will be explored during this four day session that combines art, nature, and lots of fun!

Watercolor Painting Camp with Chi-Irena Wong
Painting with watercolors can be relaxing, fun, and explorative! It is a great medium for all ages. Campers will learn about painting techniques, painting with layers, creating textures, and mixed-media techniques. Each day a new way to paint will be explored. Have fun and learn more about watercolors in this summer camp!

Hands-on STEAM Camp with Miranda Reynolds
Art, science, engineering, math, and more combine for an engaging art-making experience during this hands-on summer camp experience. Volcanoes, slime, solar power, and bio swales will be explored. Art doesn’t just involve paint, but can foster an understanding of science and the world around us. Be creative with us at STEAM summer camp!

VIRTUAL Anime Drawing Camp with Chi-Irena Wong
Anime Camp is back for a second summer! Learn from an illustrator how to drawing anime and manga characters. Campers this year will explore proportions, faces, perspective, value, and color theory. Fine-tune drawing skills and draw with other anime fans during this VIRTUAL camp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Need to cancel? If you need to cancel let us know one full week prior to camp beginning for planning purposes. Prior to the camp a registration form will be emailed to fully enroll your campers. Bring this form to Art House on the first day at check-in or fill it out on site.
What to bring? Wear clothing that you don't mind staining or getting paint on. Sunscreen is suggested because the outside space may be used weather permitting at each camp. A water bottle that does not spill easily is recommended. Shoes for moving around in easily that are not flip flops or shoes that will fall off.
Can my child stay between camps? Childcare is not available between camps and the space may be used for preparing the next art camp, so it is not open to each lunch in. Please, leave within 15 minutes of camp ending and arrive 15 minutes prior to the next camp beginning. The NEW Creative Garden is open to each lunch in and enjoy.
