Community Culture Night

Herbert Ascherman Jr. is a respected photographer since 1975, focusing on black and white and platinum photography. He founded the Cleveland Photographic Workshop in 1977 and later the Cleveland Society of Alternative Photographers. Ascherman values community support and using art to uplift society. He's taught for over thirty years, including at the Cleveland Institute of Art. His international recognition includes being the sole American photographer at the Butterfly Art Foundation's event in India in 2005. Ascherman has authored three portrait books, contributed to national media, and exhibited worldwide. His documentaries, like "50 Faces: The Holocaust Remembered," contribute significantly to Cleveland's history.
