Sugar Skull Decoration
The tradition of Sugar skulls is thought to have started in the 17th century. In a sugar producing country like Mexico sugar was an easy and abundant material to use to make decorative figures, which represent a departed soul, for the ofrendas, or home altars made to celebrate and honor a family’s ancestors. Sugar skull art and the La Calavera Catrina art reflect the folk art style of the Day of the Dead that re-imagines the grief of death, celebrates the history of a family and our ancestors.

Artist Mark Yasenchack will develop your skill in the creation of sugar skulls. Taking this traditional method. Workshop located at Art House.
